Roger Enger Lie
Hello, my name is Roger Enger Lie, I live in Elverum, Norway, and I am 38 years old. Elverum is also my birthplace, and at the age of 12 I started my career as a fly fisherman chasing trout and grayling.
For a while I also enjoyed fishing for perch. I started tying flies when I was 14. Fly tying and fly casting has become my obsession over the last ten years. I fish dry flies, nymphs and streamers from time to time.
My favourite dry fly fishing is for char in the clear Norwegian mountain lakes. It's a real challenge, and that's the way I like it. By profession I am a teacher of mathematics, English and science. I am part of the Mustad Pro Staff, where I focus on the new Heritage Line fly hooks.
In the summer I work as a fly-fishing guide in the Rena River. I tie everything except salmon flies. At shows I tie flies for trout and grayling. In recent years I have concentrated on the big classic dry flies in the catskill style.
