Horst Burgstaller
Horst Burgstaller joined the children's fly tying team in 2011 to support Theo Atanassov and has remained loyal to the team to this day.
Thanks to his passion for fly tying and his infinite patience with children, he is the ideal teacher for young fly tiers.
Horst, who had been an angler for a long time, came to fly fishing because his wife Karin gave him a voucher for a fly fishing course in 2002. As you would expect, he developed a passion for fly fishing and, because he wanted to create his own flies for it, naturally also for fly tying. Through constant practice and because he often supported his friend Rainer Roth in fly tying courses, he was up to all the challenges of children's fly tying right from the start. After 14 years of service, he has of course learned the ropes and is a calming influence in this turbulent environment. His exemplary commitment, his composure, and the joy with which he follows and positively evaluates the sometimes adventurous creations of his protégés, are admirable. We look forward to many more adventures with Horst in the children's fly tying team.
