Few can do a fashion show like Nicolas Ghesquière and Louis Vuitton, and this season the brand held its show at an iconic Parisian landmark: the Louvre. The bright, airy presentation featured a plethora of new bags, all inspired by ancient Roman and Grecian times. Ghesquière looked back to the Golden Age, or the Age of Enlightenment, when everything was expressed so purely. It was those eras that forged the essence of civilization as we know it, and this collection’s aesthetic relies on these notions as Ghesquière embarks on a journey back in time.
The louis vuitton 2000s pre owned top handle tote item collection features a slew of bags both new and old, including shapes like the Keepall, Alma, Dauphine and Petite Malle. Many of the bags incorporate delicate artwork by Italian Atelier Fornasetti. The LV x Fornasetti DIVERS includes reiterations of Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram featuring hand-drawn illustrations as well as leather bags embossed with sculptural faces.
Ghesquiere also presents a new shape, called the Troca, which features exaggerated embroidered Damier quilted leather and a removable chain.
