Michael Le Undoubtedly brimming with pride for their roots, ASICS will often borrow from Japanese staples to breathe energy into their own offerings. This recently released GEL-LYTE III Air Jordan 11 Rare Air.
Unlike its “Azure Blue” counterpart, this pair is far darker, dressed near entirely in a neutral the brand dubs “Metropolis.” Effectively grey in color, the shade dyes the fibers of the denim toe, profile, and heel, while matching leather overlays support the construction just underneath. Gum bottoms adds contrast underfoot like the tongue and heel labeling, but while similar in look, the latter two fixtures serve as a nod to the patch often found on a set of jeans.
