The Best Running Shoe Deals Prime Day event. Today, July 11, is the final day and there’s still an impressive amount of great deals on our favorite shoes. But they’re selling out quickly.

We test hundreds of road and trail running shoes every year, logging at least 100 miles per pair to evaluate fit, feel, and ride. Many of these trainers have lived beyond that testing window, becoming the pairs we turn to for reaching our weekly goals.

Men’s Road Shoes
The Ghost is Brooks’s most popular shoe and we loved this iteration because the brand replaced DNA Loft v2 foam with DNA Loft v3, the same nitrogen-infused foam in the Glycerin 20 and 21.
Tester Lianne Greco’s Feedback: “I felt like I was nestled down inside the cushioning and in control of the midsole’s stack height. I could compare it closely to the Saucony Triumph, but the Ghost 16 feels less stiff. My previous Brooks experience was with the Launch, and I thought the Ghost felt peppier in comparison. The Ghost felt light on my feet, and didn’t have a clunky feel to them, despite definitely being well-cushioned.”
A $110 running shoe is a rarity. The Under Armour Sonic 7 is a unicorn. And during Amazon’s big Prime Day sale it’s a steal.
The shoe is for new runners looking for an entry-level performance trainer and runners on a budget searching for a premium lightweight model. Compared to the previous iteration, this one has a cleaner, more modern look with fewer cutouts. Other big updates include a softer and lighter Hovr midsole, and a lower stack height at 26mm (unheard of in 2025).
We love the Glycerin for its plush cushioning but its most recent iterations—including the 21—have proven the shoe is a capable daily trainer that won’t weigh you down. From shoe test Erin Dewalt:
“For logging lots of miles, these shoes are excellent. I’ve been a long-time Ghost wearer, but never tried the Glycerin. Based on the substantial foamy soles, I expected these to feel too squishy, but they ride smooth. I’d describe the Glycerin as soft, but not squishy. Everything about the shoe is easy to wear—nothing pokes, prods, or pinches. There’s not a single hard edge.”
The Revel is a personal favorite of mine because of the price you pay—$100—and the quality you get. Now the shoe is a steal at about 15 percent off.
Even though its DNA foam doesn’t pack as much punch as other Brooks shoes with flashier foams, it still lends plenty of support.
“The shoe was definitely low in the cushioning department, which is fine if you’re not using it for marathon training,” said tester Chris Garges. “I thought it actually gave you a nice feel for the surface below your feet. This definitely gives the shoe a faster feel—I could see racing a 5K or 10K in these.”
The Hyperion 2 is another personal fave of mine. Brooks added DNA Flash v2, a nitrogen-infused foam that delivers 10 percent more energy return. making the ride peppier and your runs speedier.
“From the moment I slipped my foot into these shoes, I knew I was going to really enjoy miles in them,” said Nina Rems, who averages 7:45 pace. “I felt like the Brooks Hyperion 2 was made for my feet. They’re sleek, not bulky. The curved heel collar makes it easy to slip your foot into the shoe without it bending or collapsing—what a dream!”
As a part of my London Marathon training this year, I used the FuelCell Rebel v4 for short runs and speedwork. The propulsive FuelCell tech makes it feel like a racing without the carbon-plate.
“The FuelCell Rebel v4 is a nice training shoe,” said tester Trevor Conde. “I like that it is light and efficient and seems to deliver a smooth ride and quality performance. I don’t feel that the support level is particularly great, but it is a versatile shoe that feels good when running a variety of paces. It is light and therefore worked well when doing faster runs and wanting to feel springy. I did strides and some fartlek-style pickups during my training in these shoes and it definitely fits the bill for quick paces.”
I feel like the 1080 always gets outshined by the 880. Here’s my callout to stop overlooking this shoe. The 1080 v13 is a versatile trainer that can take on hard efforts, daily runs, and recovery miles.
“The cushioning in the Fresh Foam X 1080 v13 is excellent,” said tester Don Kuntzman. “It delivers a responsive feel providing a comfortable and supportive ride. It absorbed the impact of my stride without being squishy. Either running on at an easy pace or accelerating to a sprint the cushioning was consistent and reliable. Overall the shoe offered a very comfortable feel both in the heel and forefoot.”
The Wave Rider 28 is another trusty daily trainer with a healthy slab of cushioning for long runs and a breathable jacquard mesh upper that ensures you get airflow when you’re hours on the road.
The shoe has Mizuno’s Enerzy NXT cushioning, which delivers more energy return than Enerzy foam. A Wave plate disperses impact and provides stability.
Women’s Road Shoes
You’ll see several models available in both men’s and women’s on Prime, but I do want to highlight the Ghost 16 here. Firstly, because that discounted price is a steal. Second, there’s a reason why we recommend this and all Ghosts: they provide a balance of supportive cushioning for everyday runners and a comfy upper that feels like slippers on your feet.
“Shokz Prime Day Deals was a solid shoe!” said shoe tester Kylie Rodriguez. “I loved the way I could slide my foot in rather quickly without the tongue or collar collapsing. The shoes were supportive in the rain and on wet surfaces and allowed for a confident ride every time.”
If you want to take cushioning up a notch, the Ghost Max 2 provides a plush slab of cushioning with a DNA Loft v3 midsole. It’s a great shoe for long runs or recovery runs when you want to take it slow and easy. But it’s also fab for walking. There’s several summer festivals in our town and I know my shoe of choice is going to be the Ghost Max 2 because of its all-encompassing comfort.
“What I liked most about the Prime Day Best Shoe Deal: The Under Armour Sonic 7 is its exceptional cushioning,” said tester Jill Brader Meyers. “The shoe’s plush feel really stood out, providing a high level of comfort, especially on longer runs. This cushioning significantly reduced the impact on my joints, which was particularly noticeable on the road, where the hard surface can be tough on the body over time. The cushioning allowed me to comfortably extend the duration of my runs without experiencing the usual fatigue or soreness that sometimes comes with running on harder surfaces.”
This knit upper version of the Glycerin 21 makes it look sharp on the run and sneaker-casual on the streets.
“Having run in the Brooks Glycerin Stealthfit GTS 21 on a variety of terrains and speeds, I’ve found it to be an exceptional shoe that really lives up to its promises,” said tester Jill Brader-Meyers. “What stood out most to me was how it managed to be both stable and incredibly comfortable, no matter the surface. Whether I was on asphalt or navigating easier trails, the shoe consistently offered a supportive experience that didn’t sacrifice comfort at any point. The shoe’s engineered warp knit upper was another highlight, effortlessly accommodating my feet’s movements and adapting to different paces and terrains without any hint of discomfort.
These shoes are pretty rad. They were designed by a NASA scientist—that zigzag midsole isn’t there just for looks. The tech provides a cushy platform and high rebound on your runs. The Floatzig is another one of my personal favorites. Just be forewarned—you’ll probably getting some curious questions from runners and nonrunners alike.
Using adaptive stability with Asics’s 4D Guidance system, the Gel-Kayano provides non-obtrusive support with PureGel in its midsole, which is composed of FF Blast+ foam. This means a lighter feel with more energy return compared to the original FF Blast.
“I really loved this shoe because it was very stable, comfortable, durable, and perfect for the shorter road runs I typically do around town,” said tester Lily Dineen. “I ran on the treadmill with this shoe a couple times, and it was great because it is very stable and good for a midfoot strike. There is an extra stretchy layer of fabric around the ankle and back of the shoe, making them easier to put on and take off, and my foot fit so comfortably.”
The Adrenaline GTS 23—the Ghost’s stability counterpart—has Brooks’s guide rails system, which is a holistic support system. Denser foam on the medial and lateral side ensure more control over erratic ankle and knee movement. It’s a sweet feature for overpronators and neutral runners whose form tends to get sloppy due to fatigue.
“The Brooks Adrenaline GTS is in its 23rd iteration and I can see why people love it,” said tester Lindsay Vuong. “Believe it or not, this is my first time running in this model. I love the stability features and appreciate that the shoe does not feel or look bulky on my feet.”

The Endorphin Speed 4 may be a companion shoe to the carbon fiber-plated Endorphin Pro 4, but it still has racing chops with a nylon plate, responsive Pwrrun PB super foam, and SpeedRoll rocker tech. It’s also the first version of the shoe I fell in love with. Saucony’s updates made the fit more accommodating for more wide foot and had my legs sing—if they could—with strides.
“I ran more miles in these shoes than any other test shoes: 96 miles in three countries on every type of surface in the past month and they have treated me well,” said tester Jeff Deschler. “I was skeptical at first as I had the Endorphin Speed 1 and I found those ran small and narrow.”
Looking for an everyday running shoe and curious about zero-drop? Look no further with the Torin 8. In my shoe review, I argued it’s basically the Brooks Ghost with a 0mm offset:
“The Altra Torin, now on its eighth iteration, is a good place to start. It’s über soft and checks off all the daily trainer boxes: comfy upper, accommodating fit, foam that supports everyday miles. It’s also a good pick for diehard zero-drop runners looking for a cushioned shoe for base building during training. The Torin 8 is basically the Brooks Ghost of zero-drop shoes.”

Men’s Trail Shoes
Our testers liked how the Morphlite performed on the road and trail. They appreciated how grippy the tread was on uneven surfaces, and how unobtrusive it ran on smooth pavement.
“This shoe provided all the comfort of a road shoe while allowing for a ride that allows the wearer to feel the ground below them,” said tester Jason Karpinski. “I always look for a shoe that feels good and allows for true responsiveness; this shoe provided both. For a trail runner, I understand the importance of easy miles and this shoe leads to smooth miles on the road without the feel of running on heavy lugs.
The Divide is always a bargain buy. Right now you can get it for about 25 percent off. The tread is ideal for new trail runners switching on and off road, becoming accustom to uneven surfaces.
“This shoe checked a lot of boxes for me in terms of a shoe I didn’t have to think much about,” said RW Senior Photographer Trevor Raab. It’s not a real deal trail shoe but feels a lot like a nice every day road shoe with some added grip. Dare I say a good gravel shoe? It’s a good shoe to run from the road to a path or trail and back.”
Women’s Trail Shoes
Think of the Cascadia as the Brooks Ghost of the trail. The shoe has soft and responsive DNA Loft v2 cushioning and Brooks’s Trail Adapt System, which is a combo of an integrated midsole, rock plate, and zonal outsole pods that provide stability when things get gnarly. The GTX version has a lightweight and flexible waterproof membrane.
“Out of the box the construction and feel of the Brooks Cascadia 18 gift a positive impression of quality and durability,” said tester John Parks. “The positioning of the moisture shielding around the toe area worked great in the morning wet grass yet ventilated enough for a longer run. Ride is supportive with a firm feel yet not too harsh on pavement. On the uneven trail my foot remained in place with no rolling or creeping forward when descending.”
The Superior 6 is Altra’s lightest trail shoe. It’s a great option for trail runners who want more groundfeel. As per usual for Altra shoes, the toebox is spacious for your toes to splay over rock and root, and the zero-drop offset gives you a “natural” ride, according to Altra, with balanced cushioning in the heel and forefoot.
Testers appreciated the fit and flexibility of the Superior 6. Said Ahmad Norman, “The best part of this sneaker was the forefoot and mid-heel flex. Since my feet are wider I actually felt I was able to run at a high tempo without much discomfort flexing and extending my toes and foot arches.”
What’s so great about the Hierro v8 is that it has New Balance’s Fresh Foam X to buffer roots, rocks, or trail debris come your way. The shoe has a grippy Vibram Eco-Step outsole and protective—but breathable—upper.
