Last night, Nike blew up the Twitter-sphere with nike air force made from horse hair color spray to Back To The Future franchise star Michael J. Fox, who played the role of Marty McFly. While that doesn’t necessarily signify a release of the self-lacing Mags, inside sources confirm that one pair of self-lacing Nike Mags are in NYC right now. This was similar to the 2011 release when a pair was on display next to a DeLorean in front of 21 Mercer, but the exact location of the power-lacing version hasn’t been confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates as Nike nears an official announcement of historic proportions.
Update: In a letter from Tinker Hatfield to Michael J. Fox, it has been confirmed that self-lacing Nike Mags will release in 2016 with proceeds benefiting Parkinson’s disease research.
