Just like the Shadow 6000s we mentioned above, NB didn’t get any official love from candymakers when designing these new 996s. The world’s foremost WASP cobblers took the idea a bit further than their Pennsylvania-based competetors, adding a lowercase “n” button (easily inserted into an eyelet of your choice) that looks suspiciously like iconic candy bits that also inspire the polka-dotted tongue tag.
Available in both the M&Ms/Skittles-derived purple/pink colourway and a silver makeup that draws inspiration from aluminum chocolate wrappers, Random Ramblings has these pegged for a Spring/Q1 2009 release.
