Mesh maintains its role as the base layer’s substance, but the overlays throughout the New Balance sneaker’s top-half deviate in a build prepped for the colder season. Every component up-top opts for varying shades of grey and white, with the former tone claiming most real estate on the latest 550. Sole units underfoot, however, introduce a slightly-yellowed traction solution that injects an “aged” aesthetic into the 33-year-old silhouette.
