As the world awaits The Whitaker Group’s next Air Jordan projects, James Whitner and team are moving forward with the Kobe installment of their Social Status x της Nike React και την υπερμεγέθη “Playground” on November 4th.
A follow-up to the “Recess” collection and story rolled out in July, the upcoming drop closes another chapter of young Whitner and friends’ coming-of-age as told via Nike product. The sneaker is a full-circle moment for the Pittsburgh-native, whom rooted for “Penny” Hardaway as a youngin’. Furthermore, the sneaker’s packaging commemorates Lil’ Penny, as the shoes appear like action figures in their special edition box. The Promising mix of white and blue are “inspired by the energy of every school yard, playground and basketball court across the world,” according to an official press release from Social Status. Elsewhere, the Air Max-cushioned design features embroidered co-branding, premium details and 3M reflective detailing.
