For its latest, however, the California-institution is forgoing the all-black ensembles of previous pairs for a military-inspired trio co-created by BJ Betts.
For his first-ever collaboration with the “OFF THE WALL” brand, Betts has drawn fictitious only from his 20+ years in the tattoo industry, which he’s sneakers define via a series of guides on lettering, but also his family. Spill and slip-resistant iterations of the Old Skool, Slip-On, and Authentic don original camouflage patterns in either muted green, blue, or sand inspired by Betts’ grandfather.
“My Grandfathe[r],” said Betts,”was one of the best men that ever walked this earth. [T]his whole project is dedicated to [him and his military service].”
Furthermore, UltraCush sockliners deliver all-day comfort for the “makers” who work on their feet and need something rugged enough to seamlessly transition from job to play. Each marki Vansguard® coated-shoe also features other personal touches from the Kennett Square, Pennsylvania-based artist, including a signature on the insole and a nod to 1971 – his birth year – alongside each model’s original style code.
