As the AJ5 was first released in 1990, 2020 marks its 30th anniversary, so this pair boasts all the beloved details that make the fighter plane-inspired silhouette so popular. A crisp white leather is accented by red trim and a beloved high-vis reflective silver tongue with an embroidered red logo, while a black/red midsole and translucent outsole provide a stark yang to the upper’s crisp ying. Most importantly, Nike Air branding will adorn the heel, a true-to-the-original detail that hasn’t been seen on the “Fire Red” since 2000, and is sure to have purists and new fans alike practically writhing with delight.
