Ronnie Fieg is hitting his stride as one of the industry’s most respected collaborators, so why is he pulling a Kevorkian on his career? According to Fieg’s Twitter feed, it’s “RIP internets. Not answering any questions,” about what could potentially be his last collaboration with Japanese athletic brand Asics. It was only about an hour before that ‘warning’ that he let the world know the latest Ronnie Fieg x Asics DS Light series “is coming in 3-4 weeks. [And] it will be [his] last footwear GEL-LYTE at David Z.” Bittersweet news on the heels of the ‘Ultra Marine’ GT-II’s GEL-LYTE, but at least he knows it’s better to burn out than fade away.
