The 90’s featured some of the greatest and most memorable NBA nicknames (anyone remember Upper Deck’s ‘Famous Nicknames’ insert from ’93-’94?), immortalizing the elite players as superhuman beings on the court. Oklahoma City Thunder point-guard Russell Westbrook recently picked up the moniker ‘Why Not?’ during a snap interview, and although the name apparently came out of nowhere, it seems fitting for the high-flying speedster. Take that three? Why not. No-look pass to the Durantula? Why not. Attempt a dunk from two steps in front of the free-throw line over Pau Gasol during the Playoffs? WHY THE HELL NOT.
