The New Balance 990 Made In USA “Macadamia Nut” Pack Drops June 30

It’s been almost a year since Teddy Santis was appointed as Creative Director for New Balance’s Made In USA division, and as he’s done at the helm of Aime Leon Dore, he hasn’t compromised a quick release to market over quality. Looking to re-establish the Made In USA division through considered products that highlights the heritage of the line, as well as incorporate new ideas and, of course, elite quality, Santis and the initial CREAM of Made in USA releases have themselves been some of the most anticipated GR releases in recent New Balance history. Next in the series comes two 990 silhouettes, a v1 and v3, both bringing warm “Macadamia Nut” hues set against striking bone and black bases.

The first version is significantly more toasty, with shaggy light tan suede capping a tonal Macadamia mesh and suede upper. It’s trimmed with black leathers at the heel and midfoot, with a simple off-white and sail outsole rounding out the design. The v3 ditches the tan suedes, instead opting for tonal bones, blacks, and charcoals balanced evenly throughout the mesh and suede construct.
