But New Balance isn’t sitting this one out, rolling out a series of matching Forests across its lineup, including the 1906 and New Balance 992 Gray 24cm. The recently revived New Balance 1000 gets in on the action with a bold black and silver execution.

Releasing quietly in Europe earlier this week, this latest take on the 1000 is anything but subtle. The striking design pairs a black mesh upper with metallic silver overlays, creating a futuristic aesthetic that falls right in line with the Y2K-era appeal of the Buster. A grey-tinted midsole sits atop a black rubber outsole, keeping the tonal theme consistent.
