Something borrowed, something blue.
Just one look at these and you can immediately see where today’s inspiration came from: 2014’s Air Jordan 3 “Powder Blue”
We’ve done a few “borrowed” colorways in the Concept Lab’s past, including our “Flint” Air Jordan 1 High Og True Blue, “Midnight Navy” Air Jordan 11 (and 12, and 5, and 3!!), as well as a handful of others. Hell, even Jordan Brand use their old colorways for inspiration (the Air Jordan 6 “Flint”, the “White Cement” Air Jordan 5 for example).
But there’s a reason why colorways make a comeback — because they’re damn near-perfect. The Powder Blue rendition of the Air Jordan 3 may not be everyone’s favorite, but it’s balanced, well constructed and has just the right amount of saturation to stand out, without being too flashy.
This colorway mimics that approach, but with a lot more going on in Smoke of design on the four than the three, we’ve incorporated more hits of black to tone it down a touch. And we’re pretty damn hopeful with the result.
