Running is as much a team sport as it is a solo one – and the Endure Relays is now on the scene to celebrate all that’s great about community-driven running.

The Endure Relays is a brand-new relay series that will arrive this autumn in the UK cities of London, Birmingham and Manchester. The first of the series will take place in London’s Finsbury Park on Saturday 18 October 2025, while dates for the Birmingham and Manchester relays will be revealed soon.

At each venue, teams of four will go head-to-head to complete the same 2.5km course as many times as possible within a four-hour period. As such, the event promises to satiate appetites for speed and endurance alike, with rapid laps being clocked in upbeat urban locations over the space of several hours.

Teams can be formed of friends, family members, colleagues or a mix of anyone who wants to take on the sociable challenge – and running ability is no barrier to entry. In fact, anybody can take part in the event – from walkers and first-time runners to seasoned racers – and it can be as competitive, fun and strategic as you make it. Do you go out hard at the start to bank some laps early doors, or do you attempt a team negative split? Or, is the aim to just get around and have the best possible time in the process?

is now on the scene to celebrate all that’s great about community-driven running Threshold Sports, which is known for organising popular and inclusive UK ultramarathons – Race to Stones and Race to the King – and another long-standing relay event, Endure24. The older, more rural sibling to the Endure Relays, Endure24 is a festival-like running occasion that sees teams complete as many loops as possible in 24 hours, in countryside locations near Reading and Leeds. Now, with the Endure Relays, the team spirit is spreading out to the cities in a faster, buzzier format.

All participants will receive finisher medals at the Endure Relays events, which will also feature live results and tracking, chip timing and event villages that will be fully stocked up with street food, coffee concessions and live entertainment. Spectators are also free – nay, encouraged – to come along to support runners from the sidelines and make the most of the event village offerings.

‘Running communities have boomed in the last five years and they are built on support, sociability and running as a group experience,’ says Nick Tuppen, CEO of Threshold Sports. ‘However, the vast majority of races are all about solo efforts. This new format is designed from the bottom up to suit the full spectrum of running clubs and communities across the UK. We had over 900 teams, clubs and crews join us at Endure24 events this summer and we can’t wait to bring the Endure Relays vibe to cities for the first time.’
