The undulating route for this 10K passes around the shores of Lough Leane, which sits at the foot of the mighty MacGillycuddy’s Reeks, the mountain range that is home to Ireland’s highest peak, Carrauntoohil. From the pretty town of Killarney, you’ll run south and get the chance to admire dramatic views of the approaching mountains. Thankfully, though, you’ll turn around just before things start to get too steep and challenging.
