Nick Symmonds

With six national championship titles to his name, 800-meter specialist Nick Symmonds has one more big goal to chase before he retires at the end of this year: He wants to earn a spot on the U.S. team and compete in London this August at the World Championships.

If he makes the team, it will be a redemption of sorts after a rough 2016 when a broken ankle forced him to miss the Episode 57: Nick Symmonds, We may earn commission from links on this page, but we only recommend products we back.

When we spoke with Nick back in February, he explained what it was like to sit out the Trials and why he decided to take one final crack at the track before calling it a career.

He also shared a few of his post-pro running plans, which include expanding his business, Run Gum, Nutrition - Weight Loss.

Family Run Streak

U.S. Olympic Track Trials Runner’s World is currently well into our annual summer #RWRunStreak. For 37 days, from Memorial Day to the Fourth of July, we’re running at least one mile a day.

It’s a good way to keep us on track, or at least in maintenance mode, between spring racing and the start of fall training.

And while we’re mighty proud of running 37 days in a row, we’re well aware that pales compared to what some streakers are doing.

Streakers like the Walt family. Producer Joanna Clay takes us to Huntington Beach, California, to meet the Walt family, where the running streak has a long history.
