Hodgkinson was honored this week at Windsor Castle for her Olympic performance last year in Paris (1:56.72).
She met with Prince William after she was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire, which awards those for outstanding achievement or service in their field.
“The Prince told me his daughter is doing the 400 meters at the minute and the hurdles and that she did watch me in Paris,” Hodgkinson told The Telegraph.
Athletics, including an affinity for running, is in Charlotte’s blood. In 2018, Queen Elizabeth was the official starter of the London Marathon, a day after she turned 92 years old. Prince William and Princess Kate were official starters in 2017 when they also volunteered at a water stop. In 2010, Princess Beatrice ran the London Marathon as part of a human caterpillar, with 34 people connected by bungee cords (5:13).

According to Yahoo Sports, one of Hodgkinson’s goals is to inspire children to take up sports. We’ll have to see just how far running can take Princess Charlotte.
