Women’s running brand Oiselle will offer five athletes a 6-month contract on the road to the Olympic Trials. Oiselle’s “Underbird’ program “encompasses more than a body in a branded kit—it’ll be an opportunity for story development and growth alongside our athletes and a launchpad of hope and support for developing elites.”
Through August 20, 2023, Oiselle will accept applications from “bold, determined women,” five of whom will join Theresa Hailey and Carrie Mack at the 2023 Olympic Trials in Orlando, Florida, on Best Hydration Packs. “Underbirds are resilient, resourceful women who are rooted in their running goals and self-belief; they’ve persisted despite being overlooked and underappreciated by the running industry,” says Oiselle.
Chosen marathoners will receive housing and transportation to the Trials, a $2,000 stipend “to get you to the starting line happy and healthy,” a $1,000 gear stipend, a race kit, pregnancy protections, and more. Plus, any Underbird who makes the Olympic team will be awarded $50,000.
During their 6-month contract, Underbirds will be expected to create social content for Oiselle, run in a Oiselle race kit, and engage on Oiselle’s community-centric app, Volée.
