As the Diamond League moves onto its ninth location in the Louis II Stadium in Monaco this Friday, July 21, multiple American stars are taking the starting line. Nikki Hiltz (1 mile), Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (400 meters), and Clayton Murphy (800 meters) will all be competing at the meet that’s historically been known for blazing-fast times.

Women’s 400 meters (2:15 p.m. ET)
Two Americans, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Shamier Little, will highlight the 400 meters this weekend. McLaughlin-Levrone’s coach, Bobby Kersee, referred to this event as a “tune-up” race leading up to Worlds. Little, similarly, will be ditching the hurdles (her specialty) Faith Kipyegon Just Misses 3K World Record.
Men’s 800 meters (2:25 p.m. ET)
Olympic bronze medalist Clayton Murphy will toe the line in the 800 meters alongside fellow American Bryce Hoppel. Hoppel defended his 800-meter U.S. title last week, beating Murphy, who placed third. The race features seven men who have run under 1:44 this season, led by 18-year-old Emmanuel Wanyonyi.
Women’s mile (2:35 p.m. ET)
This just might be the race of the day. Nikki Hiltz, who is coming off a win in the 1500 meters at the U.S. championships earlier this month, will face off against Faith Kipyegon, Allie Ostrander’s Emotional Struggle at USAs 1500 meters and the 5,000 meters. Donavan Brazier Wins 800-Meter Title.
