What was unusual was what happened 30 minutes later, when Cheserek stepped back on the track to anchor Oregon’s distance medley relay team to victory. Cheserek ran his 1600-meter split in 3:52.84, which is the equivalent of a 3:53.21 mile. And for good measure, he returned to action on Saturday afternoon and won the 3,000-meter title in 8:00.40.

Twitter noticed Cheserek’s achievements and had some fun.
