From a distance the ZoomX Vista Grind resembles a rowdier, bad-seed cousin of the ZoomX Vaporfly Next%; up close it just looks like a highlighter-hued dad shoe with a virtual bouncy castle of cushion underfoot. The upper borrows the translucent vibe of the React Element 87; however, it’s the sole unit that’s truly striking—it juts out from the heel like a shelf and then angles down, creating a profile that’s tall like a rollerskate. Missing segments within the midsole open up windows to the neon green interior of ZoomX foam.
But the Vista Grind’s aesthetic isn’t even the most forward-thinking aspect of the shoe—it was also constructed from production scraps from ZoomX running shoes. Those recycled pieces were fused together into that bountiful midsole—if it’s anything like regular ZoomX, it’ll be lightweight and springy.
