Kleio Quilted Mini Bag, and one of the most significant announcements was Prada’s purchase of Versace for a staggering $1.4 billion. While I have been a Prada girl for as long as I’ve been a bag girl, Versace, while a household name, hasn’t been a big part of my handbag journey. The House is steeped in deep history and its own aesthetics, and we wait to see what this purchase means.
In the interim, Versace is gearing up for summer with its latest La Vacanza collection. Italian for vacation, this line is perfectly suited for the summer season with an entire range including bags, cocktail dresses, beachwear, and more.
Best of La Vacanza
The standout bag is the brand new Versace Tag Bag, which aligns with the more compact East West bag trend we’ve seen take over. Of course, it has a Versace spin, with the namesake in gold metal lettering, and the iconic Medusa head hardware hangs from the tag to complete the design.
The rest of the collection includes all those summer-feel-good hues from pinks to blues to turquoise. I am drawn to the loungewear, which is very Versace and summer-themed for a little over-the-top pizazz.
My daughter and her friend like to play this game where they write themes, put them in a bowl, pull them out, and then dress the theme. I’d be open to the Versace La Vacanza theme right about now!

Versace is fun, kitschy, and just a little on the tacky side. In other words, perfect for “I take myself real seriously” Prada to round out its portfolio. Looking forward to seeing how Versace updates its brand in the coming years!
How fun
I don’t usually look at Versace either but I like the new bags and this collection!
