Valentino debuted its fall 2021 collection yesterday in Milan with a poetic fanfare that was less showy and more relatable than that of the past. A city hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli chose to hold his show at Milan’s historical Piccolo Teatro as a homage to the city and all of its culture.
The Piccolo Teatro is Italy’s first permanent and public theatre, and it is considered to be a trailblazer for Italian theater culture throughout the country and beyond. It has been closed to the public since the global pandemic began, and reopening this cultural landmark (albeit only temporarily) for the show serves as a gesture of love from the House and Piccioli himself.
As for the products themselves, Piccioli presented the Valentino Act Collection, a paired down, approachable collection that is as whimsical and romantic as it is wearable and sensible. Stark contrasts of black and white with hints of metallic gold adorn both the RTW and accessories, and with this collection Piccioli focuses on sensuality and romanticism, inspired by memories but meant to feel fresh, not nostalgic. In short, it’s an identity that encompasses a new generation.
As for the bags, and there were many, Valentino expands on both its Roman Stud and Atelier lines for fall 2021, proving that current favorites are perfect to buy now and wear for awhile. The Roman Stud is featured throughout in sharp neutrals as well as silhouettes that feature bold contrasting. The Atelier stands out amongst the overly neutral collection in metallic gold, hand carried by a model in a full golden look.
As for the newness within the collection, a new line called the Alcove is seen throughout. There are fresh iterations of Valentino’s smaller and more classic Rockstud, which are featured on structured mini bags with top handles as well as north/south totes clutched by both male and female models alike. The bags, as well as the collection as a whole, play on the idea of inclusivity, the vision of a wardrobe shared between women and men. These blurred lines are becoming less of a wave of the future and more of a reality of the now. View bags from the collection below.

I’m over the rockstud personally. Since we are all witnessing the revamped classics, can we bring back the big Valentino bows?
ceinture Rockstud de Valentino Garavani!
Although a couple people implicit in the comments that they are not into the rockstud anymore, I assume they are in the minority as Valentino has gone all in. Rockstud must still sell quite well.
I like Valentino bags because they are lightweight. I also like that they have three pockets inside the totes.
Lots of things that “sell quite well” are quite hideous or simply dated. ?????
It seems that if something sells well, especially at the top designer level and price point, then the majority does not find it hideous. Logic.
Walk around town and you’ll see: the majority doesn’t have good taste. Hahaha
And you’re the self-appointed arbiter of good taste? You are very judgmental for a person named Justice.
LOL I guess I’m not allowed to have an opinion because you decided so… got it!
You can have an opinion without putting others down. There is too much of this these days.
Your opinion disparaged disparaged the majority of people so…no.
mens valentino garavani espadrilles.
“Karen”? Oppression of minorities? Oh please. Ridiculous and completely unrelated trajectories to launch. Take your anger elsewhere.
Yes I have seen this person instigate and type mean comments so so so many times & finally I blocked the account
Triggered? Lol
I’ve seen from other comment sections that, “Triggered?” seems to be your go-to response to people when you have nothing of substance to say but can’t keep yourself from responding. And your comment about oppression of minorities makes no sense. Making a joke that an individual person who insults others can’t have an opinion (when obviously you can on this public forum) does not qualify as “oppression of minorities.” And using Karen as a derogatory term is insulting to people with that name. So now you are oppressing women named Karen.
HAHAHAHA
valentino garavani rockstud jelly sandals item.
Nope. I am the complete opposite.
Then maybe you should ask yourself why you’re harassing strangers on the internet because they don’t care for the Valentino rockstud? ?????
Harassing strangers? You are the one who initiated attack and started accusing someone of oppressing minorities because she called you out for insulting people’s taste (not because of your opinion on some handbags). You harass people in the PB comments all the time (including the bloggers) and you’ve also been called out on it before by others. You need a mirror.
They literally wrote that majority rules… LOL
All of you need to please STOP! These back and forth arguments are insane! Thank you!
A couple of people on here LOVE to comment on my posts… they just can’t help themselves. ????? I don’t take it personally though.
Well, he can have an opinion despite that it’s “disparaging”. I do agree with you re: that “if designer sells well then the majority does not find it hideous”. For me, I look at pictures of the Fendi Spy and dislike it, but at the time it was an “IT” bag. That and the Chloe Paddington were very popular, but not ugly to the buyer. Also, I don’t agree when he wrote the “majority doesn’t have good taste”! The majority? I’d love an example because that’s a broad statement bordering on narcissism.
You think the majority of people who walk down the street have good taste (granted, that’s a subjective concept)? This is what I see:

I always imagined these bags to be heavy and a little painful with the studs. Also, going through airport security seems like it would be a nightmare.

Loved the Valentino Rockstuds since they were first introduced. I never seem to get fed up with their shoes and bags and have quite a collection. I find Valentino quite clever in the way they have renewed the “studs” over the years also.
Wearing anything Rockstud always gives me compliments, so they can’t be that dated.
Not a problem through airport security either like someone commented. One has to have handbags X-rayed anyway so I don’t understand the problem (at least in Europe we do). Last time I travelled I used my Rokstud Spike (the one with myriads of the smaller studs) and it worked just fine. I guess you either love or hate them, and I am obviously still attracted to them. Not all, but enough.
I still am attracted to the Rockstud look too 🙂 Personally I find it pretty classic which lends a little bit of edge to leather. I’ve also never had a problem with airport security either and we get x-rayed all over the show.
Valentino Spódnice Nude Lekkie i naturalne Nudo Materiał!!!!
I haven’t been a fan of Valentino Rockstuds in the past but several pieces from this collection are definitely game changers. I find the camera bag, bucket bag and shoulder bag with those rockstud straps quite tempting. In my opinion, this collection from Valentino actually succeeded in putting a modern spin on an old design, unlike other fashion houses where the designs just spiral into mediocrity with ridiculous price tags.
Valentino Belted Flare Jean in Blue!
I’ve gotta say, over the years I’ve loved many of the totes by Valentino, but I don’t pull the trigger solely because of the studs. In my opinion, I think it’s time to move on from that dated hardware.
