With fashion month officially behind us, it’s time for our seasonal discussion on which bag trends took up the most space on the runway during the Fall 2025 season.
Through a microlens, Fashion Month shows us what direction each of our favorite brands is headed in for the coming season. Of course, this season, that looked slightly different, with many of our favorite brands in transitional phases.
From a macro perspective, Fashion Month gives us a good look at the industry as a whole for the coming season. What will we see less of? What will we see more of? Which trends will be everywhere Gymnasium technical sneakers?
Today, we’re taking one final look at the Fall 2025 runway shows to bring you four of the biggest trends we spotted on the runways. We looked at both collections we reviewed here in more detail on-site and those we didn’t cover fully. Without further ado, in the words of Bottega Veneta, andiamo!
Skin Is In
On the runways this season, exotic skins were one of the biggest handbag trends we saw across the board. Lots of them! From eel skin and ostrich to croc and lizard, the shows were full of skins—both real and faux.
Grey’s Anatomy
It’s said that millennials love a good grey, and while grey is a seasonless color that never truly goes out of style, its popularity has had a significant resurgence in the last few years. We’re not just talking bags; we’re talking all grey everything. Grey is going nowhere fast this season, and the runways brought us plenty of cool grey bags to entice.
Ferocious Furs and Fuzz
Arguably, the biggest trend of the fall 2025 fashion season was fur. It was obvious after just a few shows, with fur making its grand return to the runways in every way imaginable. The trend extended to the bags as well, with fuzzy, furry bags popping up on the runways of Fendi, Gucci, Ferragamo, and more.
A Pop of Pastel
Though much of the Fall 2025 palettes consisted of deep jewel tones like emerald and burgundy, there were some pops of pastel hues throughout. A Slubbed poplin shirt, pale pinks, muted yellows, and more offered a nice reprieve from the dark and moody hues we mostly saw.

Oooh the bag from Erdem is gorgeous! I love how I said I wanted designers to come out with more lavender bags and it seems like they are! It looks like the trends have also swung back to maximalism (which I def prefer). In general, Fall 2025 seems like it’s gonna be a tough season for my wallet but a great one for my closet 😂
