Winter dressing is undeniably more fun than dressing for the warm weather. Cold weather offers the perfect opportunity for layering, cozy textures, and luxe fabrics.
In the last few years, designers have truly upped the wintertime dressing game, with many introducing specific capsule collections and pieces that are meant for the mountain (or just drinking an espresso martini next to one).
While the rest of us mere mortals are probably digging our old ski pants out of the attic, fashion’s elite are curating their winter wardrobes for upcoming ski trips next month. If you’re currently planning the type of mountain getaway for which you will need an entirely new aprés ski wardrobe, we’ve got you.
However, it must be said that there’s nothing that’s stopping you from skipping that fancy trip to the Alps or Aspen and instead investing in a shearling bag or a new pair of winter-ready boots that you’ll wear now and beyond.

I’ve spent a fair bit of time in prominent Swiss ski resorts (St. Moritz, Gstaad, Klosters, Zermatt — sorry, haven’t been to Verbier yet) and never see these bags. They’re cute but I just don’t see people carrying them. The one item from this column that I’m likely to see is the shearling Moon Boot.
Ehhh maybe vale but these are mostly for people who go for photo shoots not to actually ski or board seasonally
