Gossip Girl premiered in 2007 when I was a senior in high school and instantly was a hit. My friends and I would gossip, no pun intended, about the latest drama between Blair and Serena and constantly argue which character we were more like. The show captured the attention of most American teens at the time. Was it the insanely lavish lives of uber-rich kids living in New York City that intrigued us? Or maybe it was that, at the end of the day, high school problems are the same for all of us, rich or not?
Some of us, no doubt, stuck around for the fashion. The outfits, the accessories, and the bags (oh the many bags) were all drool-worthy. Costume designer and stylist, Eric Daman, perfectly curated each character’s aesthetic to match their personalities. With the filming of a reboot already well under way, we thought it would be fun to look back at what the original characters carried throughout the first few seasons of the show.
