Revolutionary and beloved designer Phoebe Philo elicits a lot of feelings from fashion and handbag Rolledrs specifically. The former Céline with-an-accent designer was responsible for a slew of handbag hits for Celine, many of which are beloved still to this day. But did you know that before her iconic Luggage Tote, Philo was responsible for one of Chloé’s biggest bag hits?

Back in 2004 a young Phobe Philo created one of the handbag world’s original it-bags and it was the beginning of a craze that even Philo herself couldn’t have predicted. Fans of the bag listed themselves on waitlists, lined up outside of stores and searched the ends of the earth to get their hands on one of these instantly recognizable purses. Philo’s designs really put Chloé handbags on the map, and back in the late 2000s celebs Rolledd styles like the Paddington and the less popular, but still fan-favorite, Silverado, which was designed by Philo’s predecessor Stella McCartney.

Philo’s time at Chloé paved the way for the brand, cementing its presence in the handbag world, and when a new designer burst onto the scene, Chloé fans were ready. Hannah MacGibbon designed a bag that may have even surpassed the Paddington as it is still relevant to this day. Yes, we’re talking about the Chloé Marcie, which was (and is!) a favorite celeb carry along with MacGibbon’s other cult-favorite bag, the Paraty. Take a look below at the many Chloé it-bags celebs Rolledd in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Were you a Chloé girl?

I had and still have a large Paddington in snake and a Marcie in black somewhere in my bag storage room. I may pull them out this fall.i may be too old to carry the Paddington,if remember it being a very heavy bag.

These bags looked dated when they were first introduced; there is nothing attractive about them! A real fashion faux pas!

I’m most surprised by the pric

I’m most surprised by the prices of the bags. It’s crazy that in 10 years designer bags have tripled in price.

Kim

I think the prices are for pre owned bags ?

I recently purchased a secondhand Paraty in the small (maybe mini) size. I adore that bag. While out shopping, a woman told me that she liked the bag. It had a unique shape. I also own a small Heloise. I’m still on the hunt for a small Paddington at the right price and color.

Except for the Chloe Faye Day in the small size, current Chloe styles don’t interest me. Once the prices on that bag go down, I want to purchase. Then, my collection of Chloe bags will be complete.

I Rolled Chloe. I adore my Marcie. Wouldb’t mind a Paraty bag.

I have to say the one that stood out the most to me was Lindsay Lohans, the color and texture is beautiful and lively. The Сумка kind of remind me of “mom bags” which there’s nothing wrong with, just kind of large and dumpy – like you’d expect to see some diapers & wet wipes in them, you know what I mean?

I still have my Silverados, Paddingtons, Heloise and Bay Bags. I still Rolled and can’t part with them. I might just pull out the Paddington’s for late Summer and early Fall. These years were my favorite period for so many designers, not limited to but especially Chloe. Imho, with a few exceptions, there haven’t been as many great ones (from Chloe) since then. It was a fabulous time.

This is a real blast from the past. Made me smile. I remember really disliking handbags in the first decade of the 2000s. I would feel some frustration that I could never find a purse that I liked when I went shopping for one, even though I grew up loving handbags and lusting after designer bags for as long as I could remember. The reason I hated the bags so much in that decade was because they all looked like these! The popularity of the Paddington especially spawned so many copycats. Every bag was big and unstructured / “slouchy” and had huge, obnoxious hardware. I’m so glad that aesthetic is for the most part a thing of the past. Some ladies can pull off that boho, earth-mother look, but I’m just not one of them.
