The Many Bags of NFL Players: AFC Part 1

Every fall, our schedules are chock-full of events, from school to sports to holidays. Football is one thing I look forward to and equate fall with. We are a big football family; I grew up cheering on our crossover team, The Ohio State Buckeyes, on Saturdays, and on Sundays, we turned to NFL football. I may not have watched every game closely, but I’ve always felt comfort when football is on in the background.

With the growing presence of fashion converging in the sports world, we are back with a multi-part installment of the many bags of NFL players. This season, the arrivals hall has been filled with more designer bags than ever. In addition, we are seeing more variety in the bags being carried. While Louis Vuitton is one of the most popular brands for travel gear among NFL players, more fashion-forward and less luggage-like bags are being carried, too.

I love to see this for many reasons: 1) the players look incredibly dapper and have great style, and 2) this helps break the stigma of men carrying bags. There is no reason a man can not carry a bag; the idea is antiquated, gendered, and nonsensical. I prefer seeing a man without this phone outline in his pocket and a wallet sitting uncomfortably in the other pocket.
