This is why luxury designer is boring these days. These are nice looking bags, but everyone jumps on the same trends. Everyone is doing big bags, everyone is doing bowler bags, everyone is doing suede. The differences between brands is minimal. It feels like no one is doing anything innovative. It could be a sign of economic difficulties and how consumers are making more conservative choices, but it’s still kind of boring.
At least we don’t have to suffer through the tacky gold YSL hardware plastered on every bag.
That has really put me off of their bags in recent years, but I like the Y small bucket. It suits my everyday style and isn’t outrageously expensive. I may check it out in person.
I do like the Sac du Jour Bauletto but wish it had a shoulder strap (and not a thin, flimsy one) or handles a bit longer — so that you could still sling this bag easily and comfortably over your shoulder while wearing a sweater and puffy winter coat.
