Since his tenure at Louis Vuitton Nicolas Ghesquiere has worked to bring his own aesthetic into the women’s collections, paring down the more baroque details of his predecessor Marc Jacobs. And while the bags from his collection have been anything but minimal, his designs are easily identifiable as more wearable than those of collection’s past. However, for Fall 2020, Ghesquiere designed a collection of bags that could not only speak to the masses, but also those who enjoy the aspect of wearable art that Jacobs himself used to provide.
Monogram made an appearance on the runway, which is in and of itself extremely commercial and wearable. It was seen both on shapes we know and love such as the ever-modern Keepall as well as the Speedy B. Then, there were the new designs such as the circle, almost half-moon shaped, crossbody which models clutched by hand in both monogram canvas as well as a Monogram-inspired jacquard. The bag features leather trim as well as a chain link hardware detailing. The Monogram jacquard also appeared on shapes such as the newer Dauphine bag as well on the strap detailing of the Keepall. Complex hardware detailing was also seen throughout the collection, both on more novelty shapes as well as a new, more commercial cross-body flap bag in contrasting monogram canvas and black leather. LV vachetta is super beautiful so I like that they’re adding more substantial pieces of vachetta trim. I have to say though, vachetta in its early patina stages looks disturbingly skin-colored, lol.
YES and because the sides are so red it even looks fake in this picture.
The way the Keepall is being carried like a clutch for aesthetic purpose is so stupid to me.

Louis Vuitton 2015 pre-owned monogram Speedy Flamingo 30 handbag
Apparently Louis Vuitton has entered Birkin territory and I’m not here for it
Louis Vuitton maleta flexible Eole en lona Monogram y cuero natural?
2B 3B and 5 all look like Hermes to me. Pretty sure all 4 pictures are the same back of different materials/colors.
The white colorblocked bag with double top rolled handles, a clochette, and “sangles”. It’s just an H padlock away from being a Birkin lol

#7 looks Vera Bradley’ish.
Louis Vuitton LV Cherie 1A87GP
two of the strings in the show had already been in previous runways ……… I think………
louis vuitton riviera pm damier azur?
Very dissatisfied and disappointing collection yet again from NG. He should leave from Louis Vuitton and have MJ back please!
I appreciate some outfit design but seriously don’t think it’s practical and something you never wear them in normal public life. Bags are just ok and reminds me of D & G.
Anyhow I do hope that Louis Vuitton will soon looking into the quality control seriously. Their price has been terribly increased a lot for those years but quality seems getting worth.
Louis Vuitton shouldn’t expect more sale from my country China! We all saying that it’s getting too expensive and actually some of copy Louis Vuitton is better quality. Lol
I totally agree Cathy! I miss MJ so much! He had the best designs and collabs ever!
I have issues with the locks, zipper pulls, etc. getting tarnished too soon, but what other quality issues concern you? Thx!
The square “J” bag in #8 is dented in several areas. Did LV really mean to send that out on the runway?
Has anyone seen that the prices for bags on LV have increased in the past 2 weeks? I’m obsessed with the Pouchette Metis reverse monogram and it was $1,880 and now is $1950, but it”s been out of stock forever! And the Alma Damier bb was $1320 and now $1360. It’s site wide.
Another blah collection. Not feeling the monogram jacquard print a little too busy for me. Great to see some leather bags without huge logo’s plastered all over them.
I like them. but since they will probably be $3500 hard pass. lol
For me, this collection is way too Nicolas Ghesquiere (i.e Edgy) than Louis Vuitton. Don’t get me wrong, I love Ghesquiere but as his own designer, not for this. I have no idea why LVMH thought hiring him for LV was a good idea since both their Aesthetics are such a mismatch. Think I’ll wait for this Ghesquiere phase to pass b4 purchasing my next LV bag.

Since he has been their CD for 7 years now it may not pass too quickly. I’m with you he is a bit to edgy for the brand. LV should stick with what they know best and that is simple, usable and practical design.
I just don’t like his designs, bring back Marc Jacobs!
All so ugly who wears these clothes exactly no one! I see them in fashion photos and never again because they look like something out of the goodwill that no one wants … bags are meh too.
Whoa…what is happening to LV lately? These bags, I just don’t know what to say? Ugh.
Those kidney-bean-shaped leather bags with the coat-of-arms-looking logo plate remind me of Juicy Couture bags from the early 2000s. Just NO! I like the one bag with more vachetta, but the others look like re-runs.
gucci horsebit hw and birkin inspired style …. missing MJ era a lot
Louis Vuitton statement discussing the Nike AF1.
I see shadow of Birkins & D&G on some of the bags. Ops
