Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Chapter Two: Cherry Blossoms
Louis Vuitton returns to the 2000s once again for its next drop of LV x TM, which will hit stores next month. Originally debuting under Marc Jacobs’s then-artistic direction, Chapter Two is dedicated to a Y2K favorite: Cherry Blossoms.
Much like the original collaboration, the House’s revival of the Cherry Blossom motif celebrates Japan’s cherry blossom season. The print expertly marries Louis Vuitton’s storied naranja with Takashi Murakami’s Japanese roots.
In the spirit of Louis Vuitton’s unwavering commitment to innovation, the print’s pink flower heads and petals are applied using cutting-edge digital printing techniques.

What Bags Will Debut for Chapter Two of LV x TK Cherry Blossoms?
This season, the motif appears across more than three dozen of the Maison’s bags and accessories, dropping just in time for spring, a period of rebirth and renewal.
Most notably, the collection sees the return of some of the original collection’s icons, like the Pochette Accessoires and the Papillon, alongside new House classics like the OnTheGo.

Meanwhile, the drop also includes a range of leather accessories, such as the Epi Leather Alma BB, the Néonoé BB, and the Capucines, which are given the cherry blossom touch on top of the leather.

Elsewhere, hard-sided trunks showcase Louis Vuitton’s storied craft, with physical Cherry Blossom patches applied to the surface.

Making Of The LV X Murakami Cherry Blossoms

OH I LOVE THIS. 2025 has, so far, been a very good year for bags …. LV Murakami is back, Fendi Spy is coming back. Now all I need is for Chanel to relaunch the Cambon collection.
The screen-printed items look as cheap as they did 20 years ago. This collection is the least inspired of the Murakami collabs.

Ah, the age-old misunderstanding of pop art—mistaking deliberate artistic choice for mere cheapness. Murakami’s work thrives on the tension between luxury and mass production, and this collection is no exception. The cherry blossoms aren’t just prints; they’re a carefully orchestrated revival of an aesthetic that redefined fashion-art collaborations. Calling it “uninspired” misses the point entirely—true artistry isn’t about relentless reinvention, but about perfecting a vision. But then again, appreciating such nuance has never been for the masses.
And I have to say as an expat living in Japan – “cutesy” iconography is much more socially acceptable for adults.

It wasn’t cute then, it’s not cute now.
Childish and cheap looking, hardly warrants the price tag
Don’t worry about others and their bank balance. I can smell your rotten personality through the screen 🙂
Found the old, sad, pleb! Your bags must be as plain, cheap, and old as your personality…
why do you have to resort to snarkiness? You don’t have to be unkind –critique the bags, not a fellow poster.
I am blessed to have plenty of designer bags , so sorry you can’t handle someone’s opinion and have to resort to name calling. Hope there’s a therapist close to you!
That is so funny that you say that because that is the exact same criticism I remember the Murakami collection bags having back in the day.
I wish they wouldn’t bother advertising these collections they dont have the inventory for.
I wish TPB or fashion mag would do an article on the disastrous Murakami relaunch with quotes or interviews from an LV spokesperson. To my knowledge LV has not commented on it all. Only the “influencers” got the multicolor tissue paper. LV could not afford to have enough of even THAT made let alone the bags and accessories.
Agreed! I was told most of these bags & pochettes will be set aside within the Store for top-tier clients only. Very few pieces, if any, of LV x TM 1 were available in store or Online after Day 1. The store items on display were not for sale, ever. Some items are cheerful & fun, so maybe LV x TM 2 will be different.
Normally, I would say the house of Vuitton Has a run out of ideas to come up with new creative bags since they have gone back to back with re-release of old collaborations, but in this case it’s almost like a reboot and a bit of nostalgia for a new generation of bad collectors however I wish they would put more effort Into making the bags match the price point. It just seems very tacky and last-minute add-ons, especially for the.Capucines eek
i can’t believe they renewed NG’s contract for another 10 years, when in reality no one likes his designs and they keep having to rehash MJ’s. At least the men’s side has had a breath of fresh air with Pharrell
LOL “in reality no one likes his designs.” Please provide data. This is the dumbest claim. The handbags are designed by a team of specialists, not by MJ or NG who simply oversee the direction of the brand across categories but mostly focus on RTW and couture. Your lack of understanding is clear.
I think they’re dropping too many bags too quickly. This should have been a multi-year project
I don’t necessarily agree with that. They did, however, need to have enough supply to meet the demand of multicolor before moving on to cherry blossoms. Some people still have not received their MC orders from back in early January.
I like the flower part Nods, but I could never spend that much money something that looks like an emoji face. I just don’t like the smiley faces on it. I will skip this line! I like the first release of the multicolor, but not this…. Looks like a 12 year old would wear it!
Totally agree, if it were just the blossoms, I would have at least purchased something. But cannot stand that face that seems to be laughing at me, LOL
Looks like they aim more for the Asian market. Never liked that they combined other patterns with the Monogram. It ruins it.
People may say they don’t like LV Murakami but in reality all bags from 1st drop “the multicolor” were sold out everywhere even in Paris. I believe the same thing will happen to 2nd drop. These LV Murakami collab heals my inner child, lol thank you so much for making a comeback *big love*
……………..
I love cherry blossoms! I do wish LV would bring the Melie handbag back too.
The first drop got 20k from the denim got 12 k now the cherry blossom got 18k someone clip my card 😭
I can’t wait to see the new Louis vuittons, the cherry blossoms. I will have an appointment in New York for my birthday this year to buy a new handbag. I am hoping to get to see them there
They will probably be sold out before then 🙁

Does anyone know if the white multicolor monogram print will return at all?? I missed the chance to buy in late fall, and was never able to purchase online.
Keep hearing rumors of a restock, but nothing confirmed. If you are outside the US, you have a better chance of getting something. The US seems to have gotten the least stock and/or restocks.
there have been random restocks on the website. really really slim pickings though
I hope to get the OntheGo….super cute!

If you’re not crazy over the print, get a bag from DH gate. You’ll pay less than $100 and won’t feel like you’re wasting a lot. They look and feel exactly the same
