The bags at Neiman Marcus are calfskin suede while this is vintage crafted lambskin. I am all about the feel of the bag, and I think this one gets my vote.
I am a fan of well-done embossing. But embossing is sometimes tricky to perfect. I would like to think that Balenciaga gets it done properly, but without seeing this bag in person I can’t say for sure. However, knowing Balenciaga leathers I am guessing this is both supple and thick. At first I really was loving the color fer, but I feel like it might be a bit washed out. Black is always classic and with dimensionality added from the embossing, it might be the perfect addition of chic. The First size was never my first choice, but I am really kind of digging this. Buy through Bags In The Wild.

I agree with you about the embossing which is why I am not really fond of it. Sometimes, even in leather, it comes off looking stiff and cheap.

I think it’s a nice bag. I just can’t get into Balenciaga.
It just another material for the old style, it can say be a new style? why Balenciaga design a new manner different the classical style?

I LOVE the embossing on this bag. I think the lighter colors (not black) show off the grain of the material better.
I would think this color is perfect too..looks like a mix of grey n lilac..I’m tempted.

i had the pleasure of seeing this bag in person this past weekend at Holt Renfrew and i’ve got to say it’s absolutely GORGEOUS. it seems as though the lizard embossed treatment makes it feel much softer than the regular lambskin and it was just so smooshy and wonderful, i couldn’t stop touching it! Megs, if there was a perfect bbag for you, this line would be it! (bleu roi would be an excellent choice!)

I just received my limited edition Rose the Bois from NM and I was speechless. I think i’ve got the same problem with you and your earlier return… 🙁 the color looks nothing like the pics and it’s very very strange… 🙁 as I got my friend to buy and send it from the US to Sydney I don’t know if I can send it back to her, get her to return (just too troublesome)… but i really really don’t have a connection with this one at all. gosh, what should I do?????

i think the 10th anniversary is lizard embossed leather and the they use pattern material for lining, instead of usual lambskin leather and black cloth lining in regular city….
It color is nice and suitable everyday wear. I love it…..

I’m a little late on this but I just bought one from Neiman Marcus in Hawaii. Last one in lilac City. It looks almost nude when carried. I love it. The embossed leather doesn’t look cheap at all.
