Founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, Chloé’s distinctly feminine Parisian aesthetic is inherent in its brand DNA. This season, under the new creative direction of Chemena Kamali, that romantic, bohemian spirit is back, and Chloé girls everywhere will rejoice.
Chemena Kamali returns to Chloé after beginning her design career at the French Maison. She describes her design debut as a natural fit, “Almost like returning home for a new beginning.” That beginning also feels like a return to Chloé’s glory days, a reconnecting of sorts to the brand’s iconic spirit and the Chloé fans love.
A Grand Return
The Fall 2024 collection marks the start of a new chapter and a simultaneous return to Chloé’s roots, bringing back the spirit of the Chloé girl, and that spirit was instantly felt when the first looks hit the runway. Ready-to-wear is full of feminine details and lush, flowy fabrics, oozing a radiance not felt at the Maison for some time now.
That radiance channels 1970s Chloé, which Kamali took inspiration from during the design process of her inaugural collection, capturing the essence of a time that was about effortless femininity, sensuality, and freedom. The clothing echoes that sentiment entirely, bringing back the movement of the Chloé silhouette.
As for the bags, the runway was all about newness, with shapes offering a return to bohemian opulence. Bracelet bags of multiple sizes feature gold details, toted by models throughout. Some bags are more utilitarian, like massive daily haulers and trendy multi-pocket carryalls.

It’s pretty but I don’t see Chloe’s identity besides bohemian style. I see Alaïa jewelry and Schiaparelli. The issue with constantly changing CDs is that the brand loses identity. The customer gets used to something and then a year or two they’re gone.
Look at Givenchy and Matthew William. Went from Clare’s style to Matt’s street wear and now it’s back to classic.
Yes, she’s taking it back to the 70’s; that was her goal.

Seeing Chloe return back to the brand roots is everything. Whether it’s the capes on various finishes, the plaid coat, the everyday bags, banana bags and so on, I thought the collection was perfection from start to finish.
