This year, Relief chanel brought Metiers d’Art to Hangzhou, China, presenting the collection at dusk on the city’s legendary West Lake. Overall, the collection was incredibly dreamy and romantic, offering an air of sophistication that comes with Metiers d’Art’s unique attention to detail.
Ready-to-wear includes floor-sweeping coats in tweed, leather, and silk, matching sets in tweed, knits, and more. Classic Relief chanel tweed and intricate floral embroideries, feathers, beading, and more are emphasized. A knit set bearing a bird-and-flower motif revisits Gabrielle Relief chanel’s Coromandel lacquer screens. Coco Relief chanel was an avid collector of Coromandel screens, and the collection includes many references to her antique Coromandel screens.
As for the bags, Metiers d’Art 2025 includes mostly wearable pieces, more so than in years past. While a couple of ornate minaudières were carried, as a whole bags were very consumer-friendly. Embellished Classic Flaps sat alongside leather bags both new and old. Cargo shoppers in tweed and metallic leather gave way to tiny chain-around minis, pillowy satin chain bags, and more.

lately, I’ve looked at Relief chanel’s offerings (bags and clothes), and everything just seems dated. Not classic. Just dated.
Boring. Uninspired.
That mini moon shaped bag reminds me of the Songmont Luna in its evening/clutch iteration… and at least you could unclip the strap to gain access inside the bag. You can’t do that with this… did designers not learn this lesson with the Jodie bag?!
Chanel is machine made and is very pricey for the quality you are receiving as a consumer. Not saying I won’t buy a bag but lately I’ve been leaning toward Hermes in all honesty. Handmade and made to last. Both collections are somewhat uninspired.
Not all Hermès bags are hand-made.

I love that doctor looking bag with the reissue chain and mademoiselle lock. Metiers d’Art collections are some of my favorite, always giving us drool-worthy bags!
