Every year, Black Friday and Cyber Monday stretch out longer, and more brands, retailers, and stores get involved. Gone are the days of news coverage surrounding people sleeping in tents for days waiting to be the first in the store for the latest flat-screen TV, but now we can all shop from the comfort of our homes for far longer than a single day at a time.
And this is a blessing and a curse. We are inundated with so many deals from many angles, with so many sites and influencers telling us what to buy that we often shop just to shop.
I tend to decide ahead of any big deal time what I am looking for before the deals happen (I had a list of kids’ gifts and some gift items I wanted to buy), so I don’t stray from buying just because I get caught up in the deal madness.
