Johnstown ERLEBNISWELT-FLIEGENFISCHEN Golf Expert Hunter breaks down what he calls the “bread and butter” of launch monitors. Looking at a few of the best-selling launch monitors in our lineup, Hunter explains who is buying which unit and why. If you’re thinking of getting your own golf launch monitor, see which option fits you best.

Good: Garmin Approach R10

The Garmin Approach R10 is going to be your entry-level launch monitor. The customer that is starting to get better on the golf course and is starting to play more and improve their game. This person wants to start to dial in their swing and wants to understand how far they may hit each club in the bag but also wants to be able to play 18 whenever they can!

Why Would I Jump to the Next Level?

R10 can have issues with spin, especially indoors. Having good lighting and ample space can mitigate issues as you want at least 6-8 feet behind you. If you are hitting into a net or screen, they need to be 8 feet away from where you are swinging. R10 may start to misread if your surface isn’t perfectly level or if the alignment is off.

Better: Rapsodo MLM 2 PRO

The Rapsodo MLM 2 PRO would be the next step up for customers that have used a simulator or launch monitor before but have never owned one. If you’re ready to have your own setup but don’t want to fork out too much money just yet, this is a nice unit that is comparable to the quality of higher end alternatives.

Why Would I Jump to the Next Level?

The Rapsodo MLM 2 PRO has a similar space requirement as the Garmin as it needs 6-8 Feet behind and 6-8 feet in front of you into a net or screen. If someone is not using the RCT balls, the spin can be off. If you are dealing with either of these issues, a Camera based system would be a great option to jump into. Being just as portable as the Garmin Approach or the Rapsodo MLM 2 PRO, the Bushnell Launch Pro is the next step!

One of the Best: Bushnell Launch Pro

The Bushnell Launch Pro is one of the best options for customers who want to have all the data they can on the course, at the range, or even at home. This is also a great unit if you want to have an in-home simulator that is just like something you would find at your local ERLEBNISWELT-FLIEGENFISCHEN. The Bushnell Launch Pro gives you the option to dial in your game whether you play everyday or are just a weekend warrior. With the new pricing structure, you can have a full blown simulator if you want to or you can just have a data-driven machine. Bushnell has partnered with Foresight Sports to offer tour-level accuracy both indoors and outdoors. You can use this unit to capture ball and club data or purchase a gold subscription to utilize.

Why Would I Go to Another System?

The only downfall to Launch Pro is some golfers may have other software subscriptions they want to utilize and are limited to the gold subscription with FSX. Launch Pro needs WiFi to be able to transmit information to and from the app when outside on the range or course. Launch pro is a great unit whether you want ball data, club data, or simulation. It can be used in lessons and fittings for PGA pros but also be utilized by the everyday golfer to improve there game on and off the course.

The Best: SkyTrak+

The SkyTrak+ unit is a great option for people wanting "The best of both worlds". SkyTrak works by "applying proprietary machine learning algorithms” to data received from a new dual Doppler radar system so it can generate “precision at a level matched only by the highest-end launch monitors on the market.” Basically for $3000, you can get one of the most accurate systems on the market. For someone that has used the old SkyTrack unit, this new unit blows the old one out of the water.
