Japan’s Bandai Namco Unveils Air Jordan 1 High ‘85 Collab Series Kawhi Leonard continues to reign supreme as one of the League’s elite two-way players alongside the scintillating shooting prowess of Paul George. As New Balance’s lone signature athlete took the court against the Milwaukee Bucks last night, the two-time Champion came strutting out of the tunnel for the first time last night in his recently unveiled signature silhouette, the New Balance Kawhi III.
Dropping 15 points and 11 boards in the “Alpha Predator” colorway, the third silhouette in the Fun Guy’s signature line continues to boast a streamlined aesthetic proffering a lightweight textile upper affixed with a cracked bubbly overlay. Returning its predecessor’s full-length FuelCell cushioning unit, the first appearance of Energy Arc technology within a basketball silhouette pairs with a geometric carbon fiber plate underfoot in an effort to increase the amount of energy stored and returned within the revamped midsole construction. Informing the design process through a trio of insights from Kawhi himself; responsive, explosive and light-weight, the minimalist upper comes anchored by rich synthetic materials while the half neoprene bootie comes molded and reinforced to the tongue.
Taking direct inspiration from Kawhi’s dominance on the court being attributed to that of an apex predator, the New Balance Kawhi III “Alpha Predator” featuring hits of vibrant red is scheduled to release on February 10th for a retail price of $160. While we sit tight on further release details, enjoy official images of the upcoming pair below.
