And alongside Teddy Santis, thisisneverthat, and the like, the footwear brand has continued to foster relationships with a number of boutiques. And come very soon, one of these storefronts, YCMC, will be releasing a stripped down, understated version of the 990v3, which “celebrates the uniqueness and mutual admiration of self-expression through sneakers.”
Here, YCMC is paying their respects to revlite New Balance’s iconic grey colorway, albeit through a more contemporary lens. Said neutral is thrust to the background, mainly painted across the nubuck trims and tongue. Underneath, the mesh inserts complement in a slightly lighter shade, while adjacent fixtures such as the laces, lining, and midsole opt for a white finish that closely resembles the suede overlays painted in “Nimbus Cloud.” Four lacing options encourage the wearer to style the shoes in their own way.
