Full details of the capsule – which Freshgoods led creative direction for – haven’t been revealed yet, but the American designer has taken to social media over the past few months to tease at least 12 pairs of footwear, an expansive set of clothing and apparel, and short film series featuring figures like Storm Reid all in the name of communicating on behalf of and to the Black community. Akin to the “Conversations Amongst Us” 550, the chunkier 2002R silhouette heavily favors an off-white colorway that invites a “worn” and obtained by living life. A high-quality mix of nylon, leather, suede and TPU meet New Balance‘s standards, while messaging on the spine of both shoes, as well as sock-liners, directly reference the “Conversations Amongst Us” campaign, which will surely leave a mark on the century-old North American sportswear institution.
No firm stateside NewBalance.com release details have been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change as the end of April inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
