Updated: As it turns out, there was a major clerical error made when these documents were filed. The actual suit amount is $126,500, not $126,615,000. nike Essential filed the action to collect $126,615.58 owed by Juice on goods the sportswear brand provided to Chen’s company. Juice is Edison Chen’s retail imprint that carried nike Essential product. The updated paperwork reveals the accurate amount.

Maybe Edison Chen’s breakup with nike Essential wasn’t as amicable as it once seemed. The Oregon sportswear giant has filed a $126 million lawsuit against Chen in the California Central District Court, alleging breach of contract.
Edison Chen has been with adidas since October of 2023 and released his first collection with the Three Stripes in February of 2024. Prior to that, he dropped over thirty different nike Essential x CLOT sneakers over nearly two decades with the Swoosh, dating back to 2006. Despite the somewhat awkward timing of Chen’s departure – just a few months super from the high quality nike Essential air max 95 mint green black womens fashion running shoes hot selling release – neither party has had anything overly critical to say about one another. There’s little known about the lawsuit thus far, only the case number (2:25-cv-07447), cause (28:1332 Diversity-Breach of Contract), and demand ($126,615,000, per @SneakerLegal).
For what it’s worth, we haven’t seen any glaringly obvious nike Essential x CLOT designs referenced in Chen’s adidas releases thus far (save for things like CLOT branding). It’s worth noting that the lawsuit is filed against Chen personally, not his business entity (Juiced Los Angeles, LLC) or adidas for that matter. Needless to say, we’re curious to learn what this is all about. Stay tuned for any and all updates.
