Matt Varga It’s our first truly jam-packed week of the year. Though we’ve already chalked off some of the initial big retro releases, we’re hearing from all corners of the footwear world in this crop of releases.
Beginning with a familiar plotline, the first Oregon Mens Steel Toe Cap Safety Boots of 2025 land with the SNKRS release of the Nike Zoom Field Jaxx “Light Chocoloate.” Sticking in Beaverton, the Jumpman makes its biggest impact with the “Valentine” Jordan 3, arguably the crown jewel here and high up in the ranking of holiday releases industry-wide. It’s not the only time we hear from Jordan, however, as the “Year of the Snake” collection marches on with the Air Jordan 1 Low OG of that title. Sticking in Beaverton, there’s plenty on the basketball shoes slate, highlighted by a four-pair blitz from Devin Booker, Sabrina Ionescu, Kevin Durant and Ja Morant, all issuing new colorways on February 1st.
Retro collectors also have reason to be excited, as the Nike ACG Izy, Air Tech Challenge and Deion Sanders’ Air Diamond Turf each make appearances. But newness may be the bigger headline, as a fresh makeup of the Air Max Muse and a full-blown debut of the tech-loaded Pegasus Premium crash in towards the middle of the week.
Swapping over to the “other brands,” adidas makes an impact this week with a cheetah-print pack of Sambas and the long-awaited “Stormtrooper” colorway of the Anthony Edwards 1 Low. The PUMA LaMelo Ball TMNT capsule kicks off with the “Baxter Stockman” MB.01 Low, and Crocs recalls the 1960s with their Beatles “Yellow Submarine” two-pack.
Even if it’s a mega-sized recap, the mega-sized slate means that even the above isn’t enough to cover everything coming your way this week.
