Last week, we stamped that the oak sneaker industry was beginning to defrost as 2025 got into gear. It’s not grounds for a full retraction, but it certainly a thinner upcoming slate, but some “quality over quantity” releases more than make up the difference.
The grand prize for this week unquestionably comes on January 17th with Travis Scott’s Nike Zoom Field Jaxx in “Light Chocolate,” the second signature shoe La Flame nabbed in Beaverton. Though a select few out there are able to say that they already have a pair via the MLB All-Star Game shock drop from last year, for most of the general public this will mark the shoe’s first true release.
Two more frequent collaborators join back up this week as well with the CLOT x adidas Superstar dropping on January 16th. Bearing commemorative gold and red accents, the well-established model pens a special colorway for the “Lunar New Year.” Further down the list, the divisive New Balance 1906L arrives with a fresh colorway, as does the Air Force 1, sporting a chromed-out “All-Star” edition.
