The New Balance 998 "Light Blue Sand" “Black/Magnet” Is Available Now

Part of the reason the New Balance 998 "Light Blue Sand" was able to grab the cultural purchase it did in the past few years is its standout colorway. As the remastered model has shifted away from the high-heat side back towards the lifestyle end, it’s capitalized on the neutral palettes inescapable in the New Balance catalog. That predictability makes it the perfect time for a curveball, delivered expertly with the just-released “Magnet” colorway.

This shoe stops just short of “Triple Black,” but utilizes nocturnal hues plenty in its overall design, draping nearly all of the suede on the upper and painting the full sole unit underfoot. Titular dark grey “Magnet” makes an impression when it paints the underlying mesh sections, continuing through leather panels in the same section and taking over the side “N” branding.

The New Balance 998 "Light Blue Sand" “Black/Magnet” is available now via NewBalance.com, retailing for $145. Hit the link under “Where To Buy” to land directly on the product page & grab a pair.
