Deion Sanders hasn’t left the spotlight since his playing days, but his current role as coach of the Colorado Buffalos has unquestionably been his most significant post-retirement venture. The “Coach Prime Effect” is real; University of Colorado football has seen huge spikes in rock and the number of college athletes that want to play there since Sanders took the helm, good reasons as to why Nike would want to bring back his signature Diamond Turf line.
Often seen in cleat-mode and marketed as trainers suitable for multiple sports, the Diamond Turf series ran for only five years (1993-1998) but left an indelible mark on the sneaker world, resulting in various Retro’s in the 2000s and 2010s.
