Nike’s New Air Max Flyknit Venture Is Trail Chic

Nike’s legacy in the great outdoors spans decades and will soon include the Air Max Flyknit Venture.

While similar to original Nike Hike and vintage ACG footwear, the trail-informed silhouette delivers a new proposition. The brand’s tried-and-proven Flyknit material takes over the upper à la elephant print air jordan. The already-durable knit construction is reinforced by a number of cables along the profiles, as well as plastic components at the tip of the toe and above the midsole. Padded collars and pull tabs at the tongue and spine bring functionality to the Air Max Flyknit Venture.

All of the aforementioned components aren’t new to the Swoosh’s line of products. In fact, other Nike Sportswear models feature a mix of lightweight Flyknit and elements rooted in function, but the brand’s unreleased offering introduces a new tooling solution that makes the Venture more than a fashion choice. An exaggerated stack and curved lines complement the visible Air Max bubble at the rear foot. “Velvet Brown” across the experimental sole unit contrasts the “Black” upper well, all while presenting Nike ACG and ISPA aesthetics in a more palpable aesthetic. Underfoot, future-forward “AIR” branding doubles as traction patterns, delivering an aggressive layout that ensures reliable grip in tough conditions. Together, each aforementioned component makes for an Air Max-offshoot ready for all adventure.

No firm nike.com launch date has been disclosed by the brand as of the time of this writing, but that’s likely to change soon.
