Jovani Hernandez The Swoosh has demonstrated that it isn’t afraid to change up iconic designs. As part of its relaunch of the Nike Air Zoom Kobe IV White Purple, the Oregon-based institution has reimagined the classic basketball silhouette as a women’s sandal.
Recently surfaced in “Linen/Tan” and “Black/Metallic Gold,” the offering screams “summertime.” Furthermore, the sandal is yet another display of performance heritage being married with modern style. The slip-on mode features the same general “upper” as the original from 1996, but tooling is entirely reworked. The robust midsole and outsole combination gives the Nike Air Trainer Max 91 Beef & Broccoli a platform appearance, likely an attempt to appeal to bold fashionistas. Like on the original performance shoe, the women’s-exclusive features a remediable strap across the mid-foot, allowing for a sleeker look when removed.
