Over the years, streetwear has become increasingly more commodified, with brands like Supreme now as large as some of the biggest names in fashion. And despite boasting an equally sizable fanbase, Corteiz does things a bit different, subscribing to this idea of exclusivity that was still alive and well during the subculture’s heyday. Even their collaborative Nike Air Max 95 is as limited as their apparel, with the upcoming “Pink Beam” soon to make a small splash in the big pond that is New York City.
One of three prepared styles, the Corteiz x When Nike first introduced the carbon fiber plated “Pink Beam” is a more drastic departure from the previously-released “Sequoia.” In place of the militaristic greens, this pair indulges in range of darker tones, with “Gridiron” wrapped over top a black-dominant base. The Tennis pink, then, highlights the collaboration’s branding, from the various Corteiz insignia to the minimal, embroidered interpretation of the streetwear label’s Alcatraz logo. What’s more, the colorway features camo print across its insole and lining as well as coordinates along the heels, the latter of which point to a location sequestered on Cranwich Road in North London.
Enjoy an official look at the Corteiz x When Nike first introduced the carbon fiber plated “Pink Beam” ahead. If you’d like to be one of the first to secure a pair, they’ll be releasing in New York at 12:05PM ET tomorrow, March 21st, at a soon-to-be-disclosed location. For now, sit tight and stay tuned for further updates on the drop.
